I was born and raised in central Nebraska and have been working in health care for 25+ years. Since childhood, I knew I wanted to help people lead healthy lives, and so began my career in nursing. I received my nursing degree and have had the pleasure of working in a variety of settings including the US Navy. As I observed the rise of chronic illness in this country my focus is now on disease prevention and population health as a Nurse Practitioner with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice. I have had the privilege of working in primary care, management, education, and allergy/immunology. I am on the board for the non-profit organization Plant Based Nutrition Movement in the Chicagoland area and am a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. It has been incredible working alongside other leaders to educate communities on the power of lifestyle interventions. The biggest impact I have made, has been with helping my clients make lifestyle changes to prevent and reverse chronic disease. I believe that if people are empowered through education about lifestyle including diet, exercise, stress reduction, restorative sleep, and connection, they can live longer, healthier, happier, active lives.
